Birthday Giveaway #2 - GoPicnic: A Healthy Alternative For Quick Lunches! {Ends 10/20}

Growing up, my family often went backpacking and hiking.  It was a favorite thing for the whole family to do and something everyone of us still enjoy today.  I would love to take a several day backpacking trip where you carry all your gear.  For those that are weak at heart, yes, I would go without a shower for a few days to enjoy this adventure.  :-)  I may be a mom but I still love adventure!

When we did backpack as a family, we would carry our meals and what we more than often carried were MREs.  (Meal Ready to Eat)  MREs are created for the military so that they can carry their dinners with them everywhere.  They even have little activated heaters in them to warm up the food.  Both my father and my husband have survived on these while in Iraq and other countries.

MREs are not known for their flavor but for their many preservatives and HUGE content of calories!  Ask any military member about MREs and you'll probably learn more than you want to know.  When I asked to review GoPicnic meals, I was excited!  These reminded me of MREs except healthier and they probably can not last for 10 years like MREs can.

My husband was pretty excited when our samples of GoPicnic arrived because while he would never willingly choose to eat an MRE like I will, he was very willing to try GoPicnic's ready to eat meals.  First off, GoPicnic's meals are packaged in the cutest boxes.  An entire meal is placed in these boxes along with the plastic silverware, a hand wipe, and a napkin.  Nothing in GoPicnic's meals need to be warmed up which is SUPER nice because you can take these meals anywhere!

They would be great in your work office desk, for school lunches, on a road trip, or even stuck in the diaper bag for that on the go snack you might need!  GoPicnic's choices of foods are great.  You will receive items that are healthy and good for you.  There isn't alot of junk food in these boxes and many are geared toward people with food allergies.

You can purchase boxes that are gluten free, kosher, and halal.  There are also great, fun kid choices which of course Gracie loved.

There were only a few things that we did not care for...most of the foods were yummy and well chosen.  I have a picky husband when it comes to odd or new looking foods and he loved GoPicnic

You can purchase GoPicnic online on GoPicnic's website.  Their meals range from $3.95 - $6.95.
