April Showers Bring Kidorable Fun! Giveaway {Ends 4/30}
Today, as I type we are enjoying a very rainy Spring day and Gracie, of course, had to run and jump in the puddles even while it was raining. A few weeks ago, we were sent the most adorable Kidorable rain gear to review. Gracie was in love the moment she saw her new boots, rain coat, and umbrella.
She loves shoes so the first thing she did was put on her Kidorable boots. We were sent the Fairy style to review and now Gracie thinks she is a butterfly.
What I love most about the boots is that Gracie can put them on all her own. While this makes for the fact that she wears them all day from the time she gets up till the time she goes to bed, at least I don't have to put them on for her. She loves the independence this allows her.
Of course, she then had to try on the coat and she loved it. I love how well made this whole set is. Kids can be hard on things and every Kidorable item has withstood the rambunctious toddler who has played almost all day in the coat and boots.
The rain coat is very detailed to the cute little pocket in the front, the designs on the side, and there are even little wings on the back of the coat.
I also love how long the coat is - it goes all the way down to her knees making it easy for her to stay dry.
Gracie also loves her umbrella and like all the rest - it is durable, very detailed, and super cute. A happy toddler I don't think there ever was.

My Super Savings - I Love CVS!
So, I'm going to say something that may shock you all - 1) I hate shopping and 2) I do not go every week. I know many of you hard core couponers go several times a week but not me. I do hard core couponing and I think I do it well but with our grocery stores 30 minutes away (one way), 2 kids two and under, and other things - I go shopping once a month. I menu plan for 2 weeks worth of dinners. I then make every dinner double so that I have meals for 4 weeks. I only have to make 14 meals but have 28.
Yesterday was my hardcore shopping trip and for a month's worth of groceries I think I did pretty well. I spent $150 on groceries, toiletries, and odds and ends for the house. This includes having desserts for 4 Sunday night after church get to gethers. I will use our local store for fresh produce that we will need through out the month.
My favorite deals were $2.87 a carton on strawberries at Sam's Club (their cartons are huge) and my CVS deals. I paid $9.99 for everything in the picture above after coupons and CVS ECBs. Just the diapers alone were a good deal at $9.99 so I was quite pleased with my 86 diapers, two packages of baby wipes, 3 Pantene Pro-V shampoo/conditioner bottles, and hand sanitizer for that price.

My Own Creations - Tutu Bow Holder
So I abandoned you all yesterday because my creative side was begging to be used. I went grocery shopping and gathered the supplies that I would need. This idea has been brewing for over a year and the last month or so has gotten to the point that I really wanted to put my idea into work.
Gracie desperately needs a place to hold all her bows. I have made hers since she was 3 months old and we are always losing them. I didn't like any of the bow holders that I could buy. I saw this idea on another site two years ago when I first started making hair bows. I was so busy making and selling my bows that I was never able to accomplish making one.
It needs a little work and I would like to practice a little further with it but I was happy with the basic start.
So what do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions. Maybe you have made one in the past and have some advice on how to make it better.
Gracie hasn't seen it yet but I think she will love it. It will be in my office which is going to brown and pink - thus the colors.
Small Talk Six - The Strange Things I Have Eaten
1. Eel Soup - I went to a Japanese restaurant with several friends (while I was still single) and no one wanted to try the eclectic things on the list. I am not afraid to try new things so I gave it a try. While it was strange looking, it was actually quite good.
2. Toad in the Hole - I think the name is stranger than the actual food. I have quite a few relatives that live in England because that was where my mom was born and raised. I was also born there so when I go back there, I have the opportunity to try many yummy but eclectic sounding dishes.
3. Raw Calamari - my Uncle Sean dared me to eat this with him when we were in Brighton, England. Always up for the challenge - I tried it. It was bad but I had braces on so I literally chewed the calamari for hours as it is very much like a rubber band and kept getting stuck in my braces.
4. Beans on Toast - another very yummy while not so good sounding English dish.
5. French Fries in Mayonnaise - this is delicious. If you haven't tried, you really should but it must be Real Mayonnaise.
6. Ants - my dad came back from Survival School with the Air Force and taught us bugs can actually be eaten when you are starving. He dared me to try one and I never turn done a dare. (Just so you know, if you are thinking of daring me to do something - I am now a mother. It is not wimpy or weak of me to turn them down.) Ants really aren't that bad.

Staying Hydrated with U-Turn 2 Tap
April is Earth month and I love how we are all being more conscious of how some products are really not good for us to use. While they aren't great for the Earth, they really aren't good for us either. BPA, plastics, chemicals, and a lot of other things make up the products we use and these things are quite bad for us.

Adorable Boy Fashions From The Baby's Bundle
Cute boy fashions are hard to come by so when I find them - it's hard not to fall in love. The Baby's Bundle is one of those places that is not hard to spend a fortune on. This adorable Tiny Tie onesie is the perfect addition to Gabriel's wardrobe because he can wear it both for play and even to church on a Wednesday night.
I just love cute and high quality it is. He look like a little man but be all boy at the same time. The high quality material was a life saver because he worn it one time and had a major blow out. I put a little Oxiclean on the stain and the shirt came out looking brand new.

1. In a small way, it thanks the blogger who has provided a way for you to get free traffic to your site. That blogger has basically given you free advertising to your site when they really didn't have to do so.
2. The blogger who provided the widget for you is more than likely to visit the sites that commented on her site. She might skip the links that didn't comment because she may feel it is a waste of her time as you didn't take the time to acknowledge her post. Some link ups like giveaways and Bloghopping Saturday are harder to comment on and do not necessarily need a comment; however, Wordless Wednesdays and memes like that should be commented on. These bloggers love the comments like you do.
3. Commenting on other blogs can build your Google Page Rank as well as cause others to visit your site. Commenting is an important part of networking your blog so the more you comment the better off you are.

Remembering What Is Most Important
As I sat near my husband's grandmother as she died, I listened to her talk - "Daddy, hold my hand." "Daddy, where are you? Please take my hand." "Daddy, will you walk with me. Please hold my hand." Over and over again, this dying 81 year old woman called out for her daddy. Her daddy was not there at her deathbed and from what the family has told us was not the father he should have been while she was growing up.
As I grieved over her words, I walked away with an important lesson - my children are the most important ministry or job I have in this life and may my life now show them that so that one day when they are old, they know I would have been there to hold their hand if I could.
Our lives are so busy with technology, obtaining the newest toys for our families, and pursuing the careers that we tend the miss the little things in our children's lives that are so important. There comes a time everyday when we need to set aside our things and give to our children. Read that book that they have waited all day for you to read. Sit and have that tea party with all of your little girl's stuffed friends. Play pat-a-cake with the baby will not remember the game but will remember the love and time you invested in him.
May our children always know that our hand is there and that we will walk through life with them if they want us to. We will never be perfect parents but may our children always know that we love them more than our cell phones, our computers, our careers, and our toys.

Wordless Wednesday - Finally...A Family Picture!
I don't what it is like at your house but getting a family picture is like pulling teeth around here. Dylan hates pictures, Gracie does to, I'm normally the one behind the camera - the only one who cooperates is Gabriel. I did the unthinkable and had has all matching so we had to get a picture. So above and below are the results of our adventure. (I won't bore you with the other failures although some are pretty funny - we almost had to tie Gracie down for these.)
