The Sound of Music: Pop Up Book and CD Giveaway {Ends 12/11}

Winner - #60 - Lorraine

One of my favorite things as a child was The Sound of Music movie.  In a matter of just minutes, you could turn all of us kids into singing machines when you popped that VHS in.  We loved it and to this day, it is my ultimate favorite.  I can sing most of the songs by heart and have already taught my daughter some of the songs.

When I had the opportunity to review Sony's newest collections to The Sound of Music, I was thrilled and am in love.  The first thing I reviewed was the 50th Anniversary Edition CD of The Sound of Music.  I do believe that the CD was excellent and would be a great addition to any Sound of Music lovers collection.  I was a little disappointed that it was not Julie Andrews singing but a completely different cast.  The CD was still excellent just not quite the same as the movie.

My ultimate favorite however was The Sound of Music Pop-Up Book.  I received this book in the mail just a few days ago and was amazed at the detail that went into this book.  Each page is amazing and so detailed.  Gracie and I loved how the pages pop out and give the whole story.  Not only does each page pop up but then there are more pages on each page that also pop up.  Each song is included in this book.
My husband laughed because I literally spent an entire hour reading and singing this book.  I was and still am amazed at the detail and think this book should be in every child's library.  It is a true classic and something you will definitely want to share with your children.

To go along with the Pop Up Book, is a great sing-a-long guide.  This guide is downloadable and printable so that you can engage your children in the story of The Sound of Music quite easily.

My husband and mother in law asked the price of this book expecting it to be well over $30 because of the quality and intensity of the book but I found it on Amazon for just $17.81!  Everyone who has seen this book agrees that this book is worth the price.  What a great Christmas present this would be for the family or person who love The Sound of Music!

The Sound of Music: 50th Anniversary Edition can also be purchased from Amazon for just $10.99.  I think together would be a great gift and all for under $30!

Win It!
 One reader will win a copy of the The Sound of Music: 50th Anniversary Edition for themselves!

Favorite song is probably sixteen going on seventeen. I tried to reenact the scene whenever we were near a gazebo. I would still try if I didn't think they'd throw me out of the park. I had the movie memorized when I was tiny and still remember some lines. "I'm Brigitta, she's Louisa. She's 13 years old and you're smart. I'm ten and I think your dress is the ugliest one I ever saw." Am I embarrissibg myself yet? I'll quit now.

Doe a deer.
I learned about the song of music with the Broadway cast starring Mary Martin.

This one would remind me of my mother and us singing. Ma is gone but the music continues.

I love the Sound of Music! In 7th grade I wrote a research paper on it. I included the real story of the Von Trapps, the German Film, the Broadway Show, and the movie. It went over the page limit but I couldn't bare to cut anything so I made the font smaller!

I was a little girl in England when this movie came out and I was living in a catholic convent, so it was a favorite with all of us. We all went to the movies with the nuns to watch it. The nuns loved it so much they brought us the sound track and we would listen to it over and over again. All the songs are my favorite. I love them all. I also used to put this movie on for my children when they were growing up.
I would love to win this movie.
