enGreet: Making Sending Cards A Little Easier Review/Giveaway {Ends 3/26}

Have you ever forgotten someone's birthday or other occasion?  Or maybe just struggled to get to the post office in time to mail out the card?  I try hard to give my family birthday cards on time just to let them know that I care but there are times that I do struggle to just get to the post office. Wouldn't it be nice to personalize and send your card from your computer?

I was thrilled to to have learned about enGreet, which is an online service that allows you to pick out your card, personalize it, and then sent a date for delivery.   I had the opportunity to test this service and was pleased with how easy it was to order.

With graduations coming, I knew that I would need many cards for that so ordered a few of the above card.  These cards are cute.  What I loved was that I could order them unpersonalized so that I could do this myself when they arrived.  This made them a little cheaper.  I did this because I will be going to the graduation and dropping them off there so sending them was not practical for me.

However, I do have many family members who do not live near us so I set up cards for them and picked a few cards that would work for their birthdays.  It was super easy to input their birthday days and feel relieved to know that they will be there on time.  I loved how many choices there were for font sizes and how you could change the images of the cards to be black/white or sepia if you would prefer that over the color.

There were a few things that I didn't like about enGreet though and things I would love to see changed.

enGreet was kind enough to answer some of the concerns I had already and along with my dislikes, I am giving their response:

1) When personalizing your card, if you do not have high speed internet, it will take a while for the program to load.  This could be frustrating for those that still have slow internet service.  enGreet is currently in the process of working on this and plan to fix this process in the very near future.

2) Many of the cards tended towards being raunchy and inappropriate for a child to read.  If you have a young child with you, this is not site you would want to visit.  (There is no pornography.)  There is a content filter so make sure this is on.  You can find it on the upper right hand side.  I already had this on so I do think that enGreet might want to check some of the cards that do show up with the content filter on.

3) While I understand that there are many different lifestyles out there, I would love to not go to site where those different lifestyles are not the very first thing I see.

I think that enGreet is a great concept and even a great site but I think it could be a little more family friendly.  There are still lots of great cards to choose from but I would love to see even more choices and not have to weed through so many that can be offensive while I am looking for a good one.
