Bebe Au Lait: A Beautiful Nursing Cover - Review and Giveaway {Ends 10/9}

As a nursing mom, I found that there are quite a few times when I need to nurse in public. I know I have the right and ability to nurse without covering up but as a modest mom, I prefer to protect my modesty and the eyes of those around me and nurse covered. I highly dislike nursing in a public bathroom because it is unsanitary and just not pleasant.

With my daughter I threw a blanket over her and me to stay covered. Not only was this uncomfortable and hot, it was also not easy to stay covered. She would throw it off as she got older and I was just not comfortable - always worried I was going to be uncovered at any moment.


When I came across Bebe Au Lait with my son, I was thrilled. Finally an option that might not only keep me covered but might make me feel comfortable nursing in public!

I had the opportunity to review Bebe Au Lait's Kensington nursing cover. The first thing that struck me when it arrived was how pretty it was. It was lightweight and seemed to fold up so small. My mom was here at the time so I immediately tested it out. I LOVED it!

I had another nursing cover so was able to compare it to my other cover. Bebe Au Lait's cover was even all the way down where as my previous cover had more material on one side. I preferred Bebe Au Lait's cover because it covered both sides better as I nursed and made it easier to switch from side to side. I didn't have to move the cover.

I love the rigid neckline because I can make sure Gabriel has the proper latch as well as see him whenever I want. I also love that it allows the air to flow through keeping him cooler than he would be with a blanket. The material is also lightweight - much lighter than most blankets, which also allows for him to stay cool.

The other thing I fell in love with is the terrycloth pocket on the inside of the cover that allows me to store breastpads or to wipe my little one's face.

I have used this cover just about everyday. Everyone comments on how nice it is and asks where I got it from. Many moms have commented on how easy it is for me to nurse in public with this cover and they love the design and look.

I have used this cover sitting outside watching a baseball game, sitting in our front yard watching my daughter play, in restaurants, everywhere! It has become my best friend in nursing! It is also wonderful as a sunshade. I just put it over my head and cover Gabriel as I babywear him so that his sensitive skin is not exposed to the sun.
