Heart of Stone Review

When I pick up a book to read, especially a fiction book, I look for a book that is encouraging, uplifting, God-honoring, and easy to read.  I love books that grip you from the very beginning and Heart of Stone by Jill Marie Landis did that for me immediately.

Jill Marie Landis brings a heart breaking but beautiful story of forgiveness, restoration, and perseverance.  Laura Foster has gone through so much and when she turns down the interest of the local pastor, he is confused.  She has a past to hide and is trying so hard not to ruin his reputation and at the same time protect her own reputation that she has spent years building to hide her horrible past.

I loved the character progression of Laura Foster and Reverend Brand McCormick in the Heart of Stone.  There were so many turns and twists in this book that it was hard to put it down.  It was easy to get lost in the pages of the book and feel the emotions that the characters experienced.  I loved that each scripture reference that Jill Marie Landis is from the King James Version and I felt that Heart of Stone shows a picture of how Christ forgives each one of us.

I highly recommend this book and will be eagerly awaiting the second book in the Irish Angel SeriesJill Marie Landis is a master storyteller who I am thrilled that I was introduced to with this book.
