Green Smart: Going Green With What You Carry! Review and Giveaway CLOSED!!

Do you realize how much garbage we create in one day? Have you ever stopped to consider how much your family throws away daily? As Americans, we often use things for convenience without any thought to how bad it is for our environment, for our bodies, or just how wasteful it is.

GreenSmart is a company trying to change all of that! Their vision was to take the waste that we create through plastic bottles and change them into a product that is good for us, the evironment, and does not create more waste. Did you know that each person in America throws away an average of 230 plastic bottles a year? "This is enough to fill the Rose Bowl Stadium in California every 2 weeks!" (Taken from GreenSmart's site)

That is ridiculous! In order to compensate for all that garbage, GreenSmart has taken those bottles and has created bags. I think this is tremendously neat! You can purchase a laptop bag from GreenSmart knowing that is good for the environment and has actually put to use some of the very water bottles you may have disposed of.

GreenSmart also just recently came out with products called Neogreene. These products are unique because not only are they green but toxic-free unlike neoprene. It has a rubber foam feel without the toxins of rubber foams or neoprene.

I had the opportunity to review GreenSmart's neogreene water bottle tote along with an Innate stainless steel water bottle. What I loved about this tote was that it was extremely lightweight, very durable, and waterproof. Stainless steel water bottle are great for you and the environment but they tend to get very cold and sweat alot. The neogreene tote absorbs the water so you don't have water droplets everywhere. My first thought when I heard this was that the tote could then have the potential to grow mold.

This is a great feature of neogreene - it is very hygenic and has a closed cell structure making it resistent to mold and mildew. I love this feature! I also love the hook that this on the tote making it easy to tote around and attach to the diaper bag or any bag I would want to attach it to.

You can purchase the totes starting at $13 and neogreene laptop bags starting at $25. Not a bad price for something that is made to last!

GreenSmart
knows that you will love their products so much that they have decided to give one reader their one Innate stainless steel water bottle and GreenSmart Neogreene tote!

This giveaway is now CLOSED!!!

Thank you, GreenSmart, for sponsoring this giveaway and for making products that are not only good for our environment but good for those of us that use them! I look forward to seeing more the great products that you produce!

Disclosure: This review is based on my own opinion of the GreenSmart Neogreene Water Bottle Tote. You may or may not agree with my opinion. I was sent a Neogreene Water Bottle Tote and an Innate Stainless Steel Water bottle to review and keep. No one from GreenSmart was involved in the writing of this post.

I like the fact that the foam in NeoGreene is longer lasting because of it's high-resiliency to hot and cold. Also like the fact that the material is the one that obsorbs the water, not the foam so there is less chance of mold and mildew. Great idea.

Because neogreene is a closed-cell structure it does not absorb water. This benefit means that when the laminated fabrics get wet, it is the fabric that dries, not the entire package, as a sponge with fabric would, eliminating the potential for mold or mildew to form in a wet foam layer.

Water-Based Lamination

Neogreene packages (foam plus the fabrics glued to it) are only constructed using water-based adhesives. This eliminates the dependence on solvent based adhesives, which generally contain toluene and dimethyl formaldehyde. No neoprene supplier, that we have found, has yet to find an alternative lamination method for fabrics to neoprene rubber other than solvent based adhesives. In many cases, it is these adhesives that contain the VOCs which off-gas the distinctive odor popularly associated with neoprene.
