Tassimo: A Coffee Shop In My Own Home
I am in love. I get this giddy, butterfly feeling in my stomach when I think of my new love. My husband knows about my new love and since he has also fallen head over heels, encourages it.
My new love is the Tassimo brewing machine that came yesterday. It may seem a little early to be writing about my new love but since Dylan and I have both have thoroughly tested this machine I couldn't resist.
The first thing I did when I received the machine was carefully read the instructions to set up the filter. It took about 10 minutes to properly set it up but it is so worth it because from now on our water is properly filtered making the best coffee and tea possible.
Since I am not a coffee drinker, I immediately tried a Chai Tea Latte. I am a huge Starbucks Chai Tea Latte fan so I was curious how the Tassimo would stand up to Starbucks.
It was super easy to make! Tassimo makes T-discs to put into the machine. These discs are wonderful - no mess, no clean-up, and it only takes 60 seconds to make the best cup of coffee or tea. Each disc has a unique barcode that the machine reads giving you the right amount of water per type of drink you are making. Just make sure you pick the right size mug and you are set.
My first Chai Latte was a little too strong the first time but I was very impressed with the strength and flavor that this little machine can produce in a cup of tea. My second cup, I ran the water through a second time - the machine makes this easy to do as it has a special add water button after it has gone through the first time. After it creates the tea, you then put Latte Creamer into the machine and it adds to the cup to create the perfect latte.
I am definitely in love - while slightly sweeter than what I would normally pick, it is just as good as Starbucks. The great advantage is that this is cheaper than a latte at Starbucks and I don't have to wait in line! 60 seconds and I have the perfect treat.
My husband tried both the Gevalia Cappuccino and the Starbucks Caffe Verona and is very much in love. He is definitely a coffee snob so the Tassimo was put to the test to see if it could meet his standards and it far exceeded what he expected. I can now make his coffee and know that it will be perfect every time. Since I don't drink coffee, I do struggle with making the perfect cup of coffee so now I feel like professional coffee barista as the machine steams and foams the milks on his special cappuccinos.
Since we entertain a lot, this little machine will be put to a lot of use in the coming weeks. I will be looking for the best deals on the T-cups to put in this machine and we will be trying many different flavors. I would definitely love to see how it makes an English Breakfast cup of tea and Dylan would love to try some different cappuccinos and lattes. I heard it also makes an excellent cup of hot chocolate so I will be looking for that T-cup also.
I have a cause party coming up to raise money for Breast Cancer research so I will definitely be using this as a big part of the party. It will add that special touch to any party or get together we have.
I would love to see an adapter added to the machine so that you can grind your own beans to cut down the cost of running the machine. It is about a $1.00 a cup of tea or coffee so this can be get pricey especially if you use the machine full time. If you are a person that tends to stop by a coffee shop quite often, this would be a great investment as it could cut down your cost of grabbing a latte or cappuccino every morning. It might even be faster as you wouldn't have to wait in line. (If you see a line outside my kitchen window, you'll now know why. :-))
You can purchase this great machine from Tassimo's online store or Amazon.com. We reviewed the T45 but Dylan already has his eye on the T65 with it's brewing window.
.
I will bring you a second review in a month on how the machine is still working and what we have discovered are our favorite flavors.
Disclosure: This review is based on my own honest unbiased opinion of this product. You may or may not agree with my opinion. I was sent product free of charge to review. No one from the Tassimo was involved in the writing of this post. I was not paid to write this review.

As Rachael's DH, I try to find ways to love on my wife. The Tassimo allowed me to make the perfect Chai Tea Latte and bring it to her in bed. Rachael was almost as happy to see me as she was her tea which was a lot!
You two are so cute. I'm a coffee lover - no a coffee ADDICT and your review made me want to run out and buy the Tassimo. I can almost taste the Sumatra from here.
Bosch makes great quality items, so it's no wonder you are so happy with your Tassimo! (I have a Bosch dishwasher and ♥ it!) - Like you said a real $$ save for those that frequent coffee shops, I just paid $1.60 today for a hazelnut flavored coffee (not a latte) today, so even $1.00 a cup isn't bad!
WOW, I didn't know that Bosch made the Tassimo. I wanted to get a Bosch dishwasher but we couldn't find one in a store to look at. Sorry, that's a random comment, but I know my husband would love one of these.
I'm so jealous! My hubby and I are eyeing these bad boys :)
