Lamaze Space Symphony Motion Gym Giveaway {Ends 11/7}

Boredom....is something that all babies get.  We sometimes do not realize that our babies are bored and wonder why they are crying.  They can't move very well but want to.  They can't interact all that well but would like to.  Having bright colorful toys for them to interact with that are easy to touch and move are important at this stage because playing develops an important part of a baby's brain.

I am right in the middle of this stage with Gabriel.  He wants so badly to play but does not really know how.  His arm movements are still jerky and grasping objects are not quite in his ability.  He loves to see people and just being around them causes his little body to get so excited.

When I was sent the Lamaze Space Symphony Motion Gym to review and test out, I was excited.  I felt that this could keep my little guy very entertained but also would allow him to have a lot of things to engage his developing brain.

The first thing I loved is the purple box that holds the arms of the activity gym together.  This box plays music and allows the arcs that hold the toys to gently move.  I did have a hard time getting this together perfectly but I turned it over to my husband and he had it perfect in just a little bit of time.  I love the that the music is not overly loud and is classical.  There are only two options for music and neither song is very long.  I would love for the songs to be longer or have more options in that area.

I also love the bright colorful mat that the baby lies.  This is perfect for tummy time and allows baby to be engaged with the unique, colorful things on the floor.  This is also washable which is perfect for when the inevitable happens and baby spits up on it or a diaper explodes.  We have had both happen on this mat.

Each toy that hangs from the arcs are well done and really eye catching.  Gabriel's favorite right now is the rocket.  He is still not old enough to play with all of them.  Our favorite feature is the mirror that attaches.  Gabriel loves to "talk" to the baby.  He does not recognize that it is him but he does think that someone has come to talk to him so he just smiles away.

The funniest and most unexpected thing with this activity mat is how much Gracie loves it.  She has been taught that this is the baby's toy so she waits patiently while he is playing under it.  Once he is gone, she will lay herself on the floor and play with the toys.  Technically, she is too old but she can't hurt any of the pieces so I have let her play with it.

We love the activity mat and think that any mother and baby would enjoy it.  The only other thing that would cause me to balk at buying this is the price.  This mat retails for about $69.  Baby can get a lot of use out of it however and Gabriel already has and I am sure will continue to as he gets older.

My favorite stage is between 5 and 7 months when they recognize and smile and gurgle at you constantly!
The interaction is amazing at the 7 month age...it's as if a baby stares you down and tries to talk to you!

I love the 6 month baby stage where they find their toes and hold them and sometimes put them in their mouth. I also love how excited they get and start kicking and waving their hands. It is so sweet and doesn't last long enough.

I'm liking the stage that my nephew is in right now. He is 5 months old and grasps onto things. He is smiley and cuddly and can hold his head up without any wobbliness. Just super cute.

My baby is only 8 weeks old, but so far I absolutely melted with his first real smile! He's so much more alert now and cooing and I'm just lovin' every minute. :)

I am a new father of a 5-month old baby girl, so I don't know how many stages I've witnessed. I am enjoying her more and more as she smiles and touches my face.
